Ancient Romes unemployment

• later years Farming was done on large esates owned by wealthy men that used Slave Labor
• A Farmer that had to pay workmen could not produce goods as cheaply
• Many Farmers couldn’t compete with the low prices and ended up losing their jobs
• Romans were unable to compete with foreign trade
• And because the massive divide of rich and poor increased still further.
• Caused young men to join the army
• Only reason young men joined the army is to get free food and shelter

Current Unemployment

• Hurricane Sandy caused us to lose about 439,000 jobs in only 1 week.
• In two years America lost 200,000 jobs (from the year 2010 to 2012) because of people not going to college.
• At the end of last year 4.8 million Americans were Unemployed for 27 months or more.
• About 1.7 million people are looking for a job but can't get one.
• The Unemployment rate fell by 0.7% to 7.8%.
• Older people can't get jobs because most companies think they shouldn't hire you if your over 55 years of age.
• Between 1998 and 2007 the US Unemployment Rate was 4.9%.
• Wisconsin itself lost 23,900 jobs from March 2011 to March 2012.
• Wisconsin lost 6,100 more jobs than any other State.
• America caused Mexico to gain 30,400 jobs

Problems/Solutions

Current

• On January 2 2013 Budgets were suppose to be cut by $1.2 billion.
• I think they should just cut Budgets lower on the poor and raise them on the rich.
• They Keep making a ton of stuff to try and help the economy but they are Just making it worse
• The president and other people should come together and try and make a system/ care to help America, but they should put more time into it instead of Just making it and think that it will work.

Past

• I think that they should have stopped slave labor and learn not to torch er slaves, Because there's no reason to.
• Same as up Above the money on people like farmers and slaves should be lowered and higher on the wealthy.
• Should make up a trade plan to help with the difficulty of foreign trade, like make an agreement with the people that they are trading with.
